Campout Supplies List

In case anyone needs gear ideas for the campout, here are some suggestions listed out below.

The forecast for the park has temperatures expected to run between 65 and 95 degrees. Rain was possible in the earlier forecasts, but it’s now saying zero chance of rain for the weekend. As always please be prepared, plan accordingly, etc.

While McMullen County is not currently under a burn ban, all but one of the surrounding counties are, so that could change.

First Time Camper Tips
❑ Tents are sized small, so for comfort get a 4-man tent for 2 people, a 6-man tent for 3 people, etc.
❑ If you are borrowing a tent, be sure to check that all parts are there, especially the rain cover.
❑ Place a ground cloth or tarp under the tent to protect the bottom and keep moisture out.
❑ 2-3 blankets/sheets are fine to use if you don’t have a sleeping bag.
❑ A sleeping pad, air mattress, or additional blankets are good to have for extra padding.
